Blake Lively and Karl Lagerfeld had dinner before the Chanel couture show last July, Karl appointed her “official ambassador” of the label’s new Mademoiselle handbag, WWD reports. Lagerfeld describes her as “a kind of American dream girl.” But what she really is, at heart, is Chanel’s dream girl.

Lively related that Lagerfeld gave her a preview of the set after dinner. “I took a photo of him so that I would never forget that moment,” she said. “Never did I think six months later he would be photographing me.”
